Module 1: The most important step in your Jiu-Jitsu journey is your first step and this program ensures that your first step is safe, easy to follow and optimized for success.
We have 20 carefully designed classes that cover the fundamental concepts and techniques of Brazilian jiu-jitsu with application to both self-defense and sport. Our Module 1 program is open to ages 14 and older and to all levels of physical ability and conditioning. Aside from learning the fundamental BJJ techniques and concepts you can expect to increase your fitness level, flexibility and ability to defend yourself with consistent attendance to Module 1 classes. Once a new student has attended 60 Module 1 classes, they can move on to the Module 2 program.
Module 2: This program builds on the skills, techniques, and concepts that students will learn in the Module 1 program. You’ll delve deeper into offensive and defensive positions and how to connect one technique to another. With time and practice, our Module 2 students begin to develop their own style of Jiu-Jitsu and are able to test their growing knowledge with regular live sparring and drilling sessions. Typically, the first half of the class will be dedicated to warming up and drilling techniques and the second half will be some form of live training. All live training occurs in a controlled environment with the guidance of an experienced instructor who will be on hand as you make this transition.
At this point in your journey, you may wish to pursue the sports side of Jiu-Jitsu and compete. We actively encourage competition as it’s a great way to push yourself to the next level. However, if competing isn’t for you that’s fine too. Many of our students are hobbyists who simply want to better themselves through the art of learning.
We offer month to month memberships which may be cancelled with 30 days written notice. Shorter term memberships and drop-ins are also available to those on a more limited time frame.
Before you get started you’ll also need an official Alliance Uniform (Gi). Fortunately, Gi’s are available for purchase on location, or if you prefer to order online you may do so from the Alliance shop. Please note the online shop prices are in USD and it will be cheaper to purchase on location at the gym in CAD.
